New In

These are just a few pieces I've bought over the last couple weeks. I haven't done a lot of shopping this year (shock!), whenever I go out I just play with old pieces to come up with new outfits, like my last outfit post. But these are some things I've seen during the current sales and couldn't not buy.

I'll start with the fashion pieces.
The first thing is this cute light jacket (heavy cardigan?) from H&M. One thing that irks me about season sales, is that the things on sale are usually from the previous season so everything on sale now coming into summer, is from winter.
However, I think this jacket will be perfect for the current spring weather and those chilly summer nights. It was £29.99 but I bought it on sale for £15. I already have a few outfits in mind with this jacket so watch this space!
The next thing I couldn't help but buy were these lovely suede Penelope banana heels from Office. I don't have a pair of banana heeled shoes but I've always found them really interesting.
For those who don't know, banana heels are just slightly curved to give a unique shape to the usual heels. Although I've only worn them around the house, I love them and they seem quite easy to walk in. I can't wait to take them for a spin! I bought them on sale for £25 down from £65.
Next is this absolutely gorgeous smelling perfume Princess by Vera Wang. I recently saw a deal on WOWcher that was selling it for £24 with the RRP being £60 (100ml) so I just couldn't pass it up! I'm someone who loves fragrances and I am always looking for new scents to try. I remember a couple years ago an old friend recommended it to me but I just didn't get round to buying it. I'm really glad I did as it smells amazing! A very feminine scent that will be perfect for the Spring/Summer - personally I think it can be worn any time of year. It is a floral scent with notes of vanilla, golden apricot, mandarin meringue, water lily and dark chocolate.
Lastly, I picked up a few new lip products from KIKO. I love lipstick so I'm actively trying to include more in my collection. One of the tips I've picked up that I found works well for me is the easiest way to wear bold or colourful lipstick is to start with a brown lip pencil.
Precision lip pencil in Chocolate Brown (315) // Smart lipstick in Cherry Red (909) &  Classic Rose (918)
I bought this one on sale for £2.90 (RRP £4.20). I loved how it looked so much that I went back and bought two more! It also looks great with these lipsticks that I bought on sale for £2.50 (RRP £3.90). I love a good nude and once in a while like to shake things up with a red lip. These lipsticks are super silky and smooth-gliding! xo

Rituals Perfection Volume Mascara

Hello everyone!

With this/last month's InStyle magazine, buyers were treated to a sample of Rituals' Perfection Volume mascara (3.5ml). Personally, before this I hadn't heard of Rituals but I'm always up for trying something new so decided to give it a try; and I'm happy I did! I love what this mascara does to my lashes, as well as giving them volume they add length. What I love about this mascara is that it enhances what you've already got, while giving you a little more.

Rituals' mascara has easily become my second favourite mascara (after Maybelline Volum' Express cat eyes, of course) Due to the incredibly rich formula, this mascara provides voluminous and flexible lashes. It retails at £13 which is a lot more than what I usually pay for mascara, but I'm so happy with the results that I'm willing to save up my pennies to purchase the full size (14ml) - and the magazine comes with 20% off all Rituals products!

If you're looking for a new mascara to add volume and length I definitely recommend trying the Rituals range.

I hope you're all well and enjoying your summer xo

New In: Sleek Makeup

Hey!
I decided to take advantage of the 3 for 2 deal that Superdrug are currently having across all makeup and bought a few pieces that I've been eyeing up recently. I'm a huge fan of Sleek makeup as they always cater for my skin colour and girls both darker and lighter. The blush is called Coral and is a subtle orange-y colour (on the Sleek website they give swatches of how each shade will look on different skin tones.) Barely There is my favourite; it's a pink nude which I like to tone down with a light brown lip liner. Papya Punch is also a lovely colour but I find it quite hard to use because it's matte, so if anyone has any tips on how to apply matte lipstick, please let me know!
Hope you're all having a lovely bank holiday weekend xo

Beauty Basics | Mini Make-Up Haul

Hi guuuuuuuys!

I know it's been almost 4 weeks since I've been M.I.A... APOLOGIES! I have missed blogging and I felt so bad for not doing my usual 'welcome to the month' at the beginning of the month. So, for whatever it's worth Welcome to November! :)

Today I'm going to share with you some makeup pieces that I've bought recently as Superdrug are currently having 3 for 2 across all cosmetics, yay!

I'm going to start with this BB cream that I bought by Sleek. I've been looking for a BB cream for ages and when I saw one of my fellow bloggers - Akilah from Perfectly Random post about it I just had to get it. It provides a full coverage and has SPF15. I haven't used it that much yet but I have a good feeling about it :) I got it in shade 'medium'

Another Sleek product in the form of their Brow Kit. Now, I'm not a fan of this whole thick eyebrow thing girls have going on at the moment but my eyebrows are quite thin and I believe that lightly filling them in does the trick. I was previously using an eyebrow pencil from MUA but again have been meaning to buy this for a long time. I'm a big fan of this kit as it gives the brows a natural look but at the same time is buildable to achieve the shade you want.

Next is the Heaven and Earth palette by MUA. I've had this on my to-buy list for a long time but I never got round to buying it. I finally have and I'm a huge fan of the colours given. They are the perfect shades for a natural look and the lighter ones can be used on the brow bone as a highlighter.

This eyeshadow is from MUA and is in shade 20. It is a highly pigmented matte black, and I love it! It can be used wet or dry as an eyeliner or to help achieve a smokey eye. And for £1, great value for money!

And last but not least my favourite mascara, Volum' Express Colossal Cat Eyes by Maybelline. As I said in my Maybe it's Maybelline post I am in love with this mascara, so much so that this is my third time buying it! For a full review click the link, but seriously... I love this mascara.

Maybe it's Maybelline!

Hello all!
Mascara is a must have item in my makeup bag. I love how it makes my eyes pop, such a small amount makes a big difference. I've gone through many over the years and currently my favourite is Maybelline. So, I'm going to share with you the two that I've fallen in love with and one that I've just started using.

Colossal Volum' Express
This was the first Maybelline mascara I bought and by far my favourite out of the three. I love that it's waterproof that's a must in whatever mascara I buy, you never know what you might come across during the day. I also love the size and shape of the brush, I found it very easy to use against my eyelashes. I've purchased this mascara twice and I will most definitely buy it again. I have semi-long lashes anyway and this mascara accentuates them as well as making them look fuller. After a while it does get a bit clumpy but it's usually around the time you're supposed to change it anway so it's understandable.

Colossal Volum' Express Cat Eyes
My second Maybelline mascara and another favourite. For me, it does what it says on the tin, it gives my eyelashes a cat-like look, while making my lashes look longer. The shape of the wand helps enormously with this and again is very easy to use. Unfortunately, it isn't waterproof but while using it I didn't have any problems with it running. And a plus to that it was very easy to remove.

The Falsies Volum' Express
This is the mascara I'm currently using and I haven't used it that long so this is a two week review. Firstly, it's waterproof which is great. However, I'm not a fan of the shape of the wand, it is similar to that of the cat eyes mascara but it's a lot thicker (that's not shown well in the photo, apologies). Again, I have just started using it but I find it very awkward to use. Maybe with time I'll be able to perfect it and I'll try to update this.

What is your favourite mascara and is there any you think I should try? Let me know! xo
