OOTD | Bridesmaid

Hello all!

On saturday I was a bridesmaid (for the first time ever!) for my aunts wedding. It was a really beautiful day. The weather managed to hold off long enough for us to take some pictures outside, but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves!

I bought the dress from a shop in Finsbury Park (Fonthill Road - UK) called Jora. It was a long quest to find a dress we all agreed on, but we were so happy when we found this one.
The shoes I got on sale from Dorothy Perkins, £35 down to £20 (but I got them for £17 because of my student discount. Happy days! ^_^) I didn't want anything too high, as I knew I'd be in them for a long time. They did hurt a bit during the reception (well, what new shoe doesn't?) but luckily I brought flats to change into.

Recipe: Strawberry & chocolate slices

:)

Yesterday I decided to bake something different than what I usually do, so I looked through our baking book and found a recipe for these strawberry & chocolate slices.

Baking book: Easy Baking

Makes 16

Ingredients:
8 oz plain flour
8 oz unsalted butter
31/2 oz caster sugar
3 oz soft light brown sugar
51/2 oz rolled oats
8 oz strawberry jam
31/2 oz plain chocolate chips

Method:
  1. Preheat the oven to 190c/Gas Mark 5. Grease a rectangular baking tin and line with baking paper.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Add the caster sugar and brown sugar and mix well. Add the butter and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs (this part didn't really work out well for me, it did not look like breadcrumbs at all). Stir in the oats.
  3. Press three quarters of the mixture into the base of the tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  4. Spread the jam over the cooked base, then sprinkle over the chocolate chips. *Sprinkle the remaining mixture over the chocolate chitps and press down gently.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for a further 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from the oven, leave to cool then cut into slices.
*At this point the recipe says to add flaked almonds but I didn't have any, so I didn't :)

They taste AMAZING! They taste so good I was even reluctant to share with my siblings hahaa.
Hope you try and enjoy them xo

Jewellery Haul | Kukee

Heyy!

So I recently discovered an online jewelley shop called Kukee. I know I may be really late but I'm just happy I found it :) They sell gorgeous jewellery for a very decent price. I've seen some of the things they sell in high street shops for a lot more, so if there is something that you wanted to buy but the price held you back, definitely check Kukee out! I only found out about them 3 weeks ago and I've already ordered from them twice!

Above the knuckle rings - £1.50 each

Aztec knuckle ring - £3

Skull bangle - £3.50

Skull ring - £2

Studded spike necklace (gunmetal) - £4

Spike stud earrings (antique gold) - £2
 Nails: Park Ave by NYC

I've worn almost all of them already and I can't wait to mix and match them up!
They offer worldwide delivery (prices shown on the website), and free worldwide delivery for orders over £40. When I ordered my items I received a free knuckle ring for ordering over £10 and now you get a free pair of feather earrings. UK delivery is £2.20 and takes 3-6 days (I got mine within 5).

Hope you enjoyed this haul :)

Africa Fashion Week London - 4th August 2012

Hi guys!

During the weekend I attended the Africa Fashion Week (AFW). This was my first time hearing about it and therefore my first time going. It was held in Spitalfields Market in London where there were many stalls selling hand made african inspired wear including dresses, blazers, shoes, bags and many more!
They also had a fashion show, which didn't include as much African clothing as I thought it would but did have a lot of beautiful pieces.
There was a huge turnout in quite a small area but other than the restricted movement space I had a good time. It was great to see so many African prints that I had grown up with used to make different styles of clothing.

New In: Blue Suede Shoes

Hello!

I bought these heels about 2 weeks ago and I've been in two minds about them ever since. Obviously, I liked them once which was why I bought them, but after a while I felt they made my feet look funny. So, I decided I was going to return them. But on the day I was going to return them I thought I'd try them on one last time and guess what? They looked amazing! I don't know if it was because they knew I wanted to return them or something but they stepped their game up and I love them again hahaa.

By the way, some of you who follow my sister may remember her posting them, but I'd just like to say I saw them first, I bought them first and she copied me! :)

OOTD | Lunch date

Happy August everyone!

I can't believe how fast time has gone! We're in the heart of summer and it's grey, cold and wet outside :(
However, a couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to have a few days of good weather and I'd like to share with you what I wore to meet up with a couple of friends I hadn't seen in a while.
We went to Wagamama which is a Japanese restaurant. It was my first time going there and I really enjoyed it. We all found it very interesting that it was a Japanese restaurant and none of the people who worked there were Japanese, hmmm...

Anyway! :)
