NOTD | Eternal Optimist

It's been a while since I treated myself to a manicure so today I decided to do just that. My middle nail broke a few days ago (bummer!) but I refused to let that stop me from getting them done! Described as a spiced tea rose colour, Eternal Optimist by Essie has become my favourite nude pink. It's a shade that can be worn any season, day or night and is perfect for those who love to wear nail polish but not a fan of colours.
I absolutely love nude shades of nail polish such as this, as they are easy to wear and look great on most if not all skin tones; a classic in my opinion. This application was done professionally however I have used it in the comfort of my own home and have achieved the same great results. Two coats were applied which dried fairly quickly, leaving a streak-free creme finish.
I will most definitely be purchasing more shades from Essie and if you're interested in getting some yourself Essie polishes retail at £7.99/15ml available from selected Boots and Superdrug stores xo

NOTD | Red Black

HI GUUUUYS!!! *waves frantically* :D

I know, it's been a hot minute since I blogged. As you (should) know I'm in my last year of uni and let me tell you it is definitely challenging! I'm doing all I can to get the best I can which means prioritising my time and unfortunately my uni work beats blogging (and just about everything else in my life), which explains my hiatus. I have a few new things that I've bought and outfits that I really want to share with you guys, so I'm going to try my best to do so :)
Today though I'm just going to show you a nail colour I've been loving a lot at the moment. Red Black by Barry M has been my go-to colour these winter months. There's something about the colour that I think is just perfect for the time of year, and not to mention I love how it looks on my nails.

I hope you've all been well! Oh and Happy New Year lol xo

NOTD | Park Ave

Tried something a little different on my nails... Been admiring this colour for a while now so decided to give it another go, and I'm glad I did. I love how it looks on my nails and I think it's one of those colours that will suit any skin tone. Definitely enjoying having this colour on my nails at the moment xo

NOTD | Nude Berry

Hey guys,
I decided to put two of my most loved nail colours together, with Berry Ice-Cream by Barry M (shown here) as my feature nail and my favourite nude (shown here) on the rest of my nails. I've seen a lot of people with this style (having two colours with one as a feautre) so I decided to try it as well xo

NOTD | Forever

*2 coats applied
You may remember the post I did last October about the nude nail polish my sister got from the Dominican Republic (if not, click here). Well, my sister made a valid point that once it finishes, it's gone. I love the colour so much that I want to wear it all the time but I also want to have it for a long time. Therefore I've been looking for other nude colours that I could wear on a more regular basis; the first contender being 'Forever' by the Seventeen range at Boots.

Nude colours are perfect for people who don't like too much colour on their nails and those who want colour but can't e.g. due to work. One of the main difference between the two is that the Fashion Nail colour is a pinky nude, whereas this one is more dusty. The colour is a nice subtle nude suitable for various skin tones which retails for £2.99.

If you know of any other nude colours you think I should try, please let me know xo

NOTD | Pinking Of You

Hello lovely readers!

A few weeks ago I purchased a Wowcher deal for a manicure & pedicure for £15, and this week I redeemed that offer. They had a few colours to choose from but I decided to go with Pinking of You by OPI. This is my first time using OPI nail lacquers and I really like the colours they have to offer. The lacquer goes on very well; I only did them a few days ago but they seem to be lasting quite well.

For those interested in mani/pedi's, waxes, massages and stuff like that you should definitely sign up to Wowcher as they have a lot of great deals xo

NOTD | Half Moon Nails in Bright Purple

Hi guys :)

I first saw this look a few years ago on Shirley from Meek -n- Mild and always wanted to try it but never got round to buying the reinforcements. However, I was in WHSmith and thought I'd finally give it a try. This is my first time doing it but I love how they came out and will definitely be trying it again with other colours.

If you click the link given above you can see Shirley's tutorial which is the one I used.

NOTD | Victoria

Hello everyone!

It's December aaaaaand it's nearly Christmas! :D

We had our first sight of snow on wednesday (5/12/12) Typical British weather, it'll snow every other day in December except Christmas Day lol!

The nail colour I'm going to show you today is Victoria by Nails Inc. It's one of those colours I wear every now and again, but despite that I'm such a huge fan of it! It is a lot darker than the colours I usually wear but I think it is perfect for this season.

NOTD | Nude

Hello all!

I thought I'd try something different with my nail colour so I decided to go for a pinky nude. There isn't a specific colour on the bottle and I'm not too sure on the brand, my sister got it when she was on holiday in the Dominican Republic for 30p!

I love this colour because it's really subtle and most times when I look at my nails it looks like I'm not wearing anything.

It has most definitely been added to my collection of favourite nail colours! xo

NOTD | Coral

Hello my dear followers/readers!

*Image taken from Tumblr

(I know it's four days late, but...) Welcome to October :) Only 2 months until Christmas! I can't believe have fast the year has gone, it's crazy!

Anyhoo, I got my nails done yesterday with a colour I recently purchased, Coral by Barry M. I instantly fell in love with this colour when I saw it on a friend about a year ago. I have no idea why it took me so long to buy it, but I finally did! This is one of those colours I think will look nice on all skin tones, and it can add a pop of colour to a dark outfit.

As I'm sure you can tell I'm a big fan of bright nail colours and an even bigger fan of Barry M. Between me and my sisters, we have a lot of Barry M nail paints. I might even do a post and show you all the colours we have...

New York Color & Flushed by Sleek

Hey guys :)

So I bought a few things recently that I wanted to show you. They're nothing special but I just wanted to share them with you.

I'm sure you've all heard of BritPopPrincess aka Patricia the YouTube guru. Well, on her recent makeup tutorial she used a blush by Sleek called Flushed. When I saw it on her I fell in love. It's a lovely matte red and compliments her skin tone very well, which is what made me want to buy it because we're a similar skin tone.

Also, my sister bought a couple of nail polishes by NYC a few weeks ago and I loved them, so I decided to buy my own. They have so many colours and for a very decent price. As shown in my recent NOTD I've developed a love for pastel colours which persuaded me to choose these colours.

Lincoln Square Lavender & Prospect Park Pink - £1.79 each
Flushed by Sleek - £4.49

Also, the UK is finally enjoying some lovely weather! It's sunny and hot so hopefully I'll have some OOTD's to show you :) xo

NOTD | Berry Ice Cream

Hello dear readers!

It was my mum's birthday on friday so my sister and I took her to get her nails done. It was mine and my mum's first time getting a pedicure and my first time in about 3 years getting a manicure.
We had a really lovely time and it was a really relaxing experience. I'm definitely gonna treat myself to mani/pedi's more often :)

I chose a colour that I had used before and really liked so I brought it in and asked them to use that. It's by Barry M and it's called Berry Ice Cream.

Previously, I wasn't quite sure if pastel colours looked nice on me but I've been experiementing recently and I've found that they actually do! Good times :)

NOTD | Shocking Pink & Savile Row

Hi there! :)

My current nail colours are Barry M - Shocking Pink and Nails Inc - Savile Row. I've done this kind of nail colour style before but with a light purple on my other nails. However, I saw this colour among the various nail varnishes me and my sisters have so I decided to try it out. It came out a lot darker than I thought it would, but I still like it. I painted my nails before I went to sleep and as you can tell from the pictures I didn't wait long enough for them to dry, so they have all those lines and stuff all over them which is so annoying, lol!

Hope you're all well

NOTD | MissChievious

Hi guys!

This is my current nail colour. It's by Missguided and it's called MissChievious. My sister got it free from a magazine (I can't remember which one) she gave it to me and I've loved it since then. I've had it for quite a while and it's definitely my go-to nail colour. It's reached the mid-way point and I already know I'll be getting it again when it finishes!

I use Barry M nail varnish as a basecoat and topcoat and Avon quick dry nail spray to help my nails dry faster. I spray it on a couple of minutes after my final coat.

What's your favourite nail colour?
